Uzhgorod, the main
city of Transcarpathian Province (Zakarpatska oblast), is
located in the western part of Ukraine, near the borders
with Slovakia and Hungary. Uzhgorod is linked by railway
with Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi,
Vinnytsia, Poltava, Odesa and other cities of Ukraine. A
nearby (22 km) railway station of Chop provides railway
connection with Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Vienna,
Zagreb, Belgrade and other European cities. Uzhgorod
airport provides air routes to Kyiv, Luhansk, Moscow,
Budapest.
